The program aims will be reached by psycho-psychical didactic: the verbal-emotional and physical-emotional development are the 2 main ways that one can follow to become aware of one’s own unique qualities and possibilities, one’s position in the group, and finally one’s tasks and responsibilities and the inner path to follow to become a genuine person. Verbal-emotional development means that awareness is gained through self-reflection and the verbalisation of emotions and feelings.

Psycho-psychical didactic

Rock and Water is a program to support children and (young) adults to become aware of their qualities, feelings and strength. So they have the courage and tools to discover and follow their own path no matter the responsibilities, problems and challenges they come across along the journey through life.

Program aims:

• Extend self-awareness.

• Develop a harmonious self-image and the awareness.

   that you're unique and connected with other people.

• Make your own choice based on the knowledge of

   control of energy, talents and qualities.

• Develop empathy and social competences.

• Make friendships based on equality.

With rock and water, guys learn a little more by practice, less repetition, more variety and short conversations. Girls are challenged to go into action to learn that feelings and emotions also can be expressed by games and movements.

Girls

As a generalisation, we see that girls have a preference for this form of communication. Before they act they reflect upon a possible action to undertake. After action they reflect again and discuss this with others. Often you can see girls gathering in small groups in school or other places practising this very important skill: creating self-awareness through self-reflection and talking and listening to each other.

Boys

Boys are often more energetic and find it more difficult to exchange feelings and emotions through talking and listening to each other. Therefore they tend to be approaching things more physically, again speaking in general terms, and by communicating things this way they build up self-awareness and the required social skills. Since boys have so much energy and quite often trouble with expressing themselves verbally, a psycho-physical didactic approach has been chosen.

This means that skills are first introduced during physical exercises, with the result that a connection is made between the social and mental skills not just in the brain but also in other parts of the body. Starting from a strong physical basis, they set off along a path that leads to self-awareness and the insight that people are mutually connected in various ways.
